History of
Art Wakan.

A few years ago, I wanted to give a gift to my husband, who is dedicated to the world of horses, and I thought of giving him a horsehair bracelet.

I couldn't find any. After searching a lot and visiting websites, almost all from Mexico and the US, none of them convinced me, so I took horsehair from the tail of one of our horses and made my first horsehair bracelet.

It was a success, my husband loved the bracelet made of the mane of one of our horses. Then some friends wanted the same, then others and others, and that's how Art Wakan was born.

My name is Emma and my family owned a jewelry making business so I already had the knowledge and experience in jewelry making.

Although life took me down different paths, I never lost contact with that world, to which I returned a few years ago, closing the circle and now using horsehair as the raw material for my creations.

From my workshop in the Pyrenees I create handcrafted pieces of horsehair jewelry that, due to the uniqueness of horsehair and the nature of the designs, are one of a kind.
